Berk Brown

Berk joined the Platte Institute as Editor in January of 2008. His journalism career began in 1993 and his column writing and journalistic work earned him numerous awards from various organizations, including the Nebraska Press Association and the Minnesota Newspaper Association, over a 10-year period.

A native of Fremont, Berk and his family moved back to Nebraska in 2003 and he spent four years in the financial world, working for industry giants Pacific Life and TD Ameritrade, before getting back into his true passion with the Platte Institute. Berk's wife Chantel works for Children's Hospital in Omaha and they reside in southwest Omaha with their two daughters, Cali and Shaylie.
