Sarah Curry is the Policy Director at the Platte Institute. Previously, she was the Director of Fiscal Policy Studies at the John Locke Foundation in Raleigh, North Carolina where she was published and quoted in several newspapers across the state for state budget and local government analysis and commentary. She also regularly provided comments and sometimes criticism of the state budget process for capital area news agencies.
Sarah began her policy work for the North Carolina State Senate as a research assistant for the chairs of the Senate Agricultural Committee and headed the research efforts for the Regulatory Reform Committee.
Sarah earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Government from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana while being a scholarship athlete. She then earned her International Masters of Business Administration with a plus certificate in Finance from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
Being born and raised on her family’s farm, Sarah enjoys everything outside from hiking, camping, fishing, to horseback riding. She is also a soccer referee and volunteer with the Girl Scouts. She and her husband, Paul, are also the proud owners of a very energetic puppy named Penny.
