The Platte Institute for Economic Research held a 2011 Fall Legislative Conclave on September 16, 2011 in Lincoln. Keynote speakers included Governor Dave Heineman, Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood, Jonathan Williams (ALEC), and Dr. Eric Thompson of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. The agenda focused on strategies to improve Nebraska's economic climate, reality-based budgeting techniques and the unique challenges of urban and rural growth.
