Luke Ashton | Policy Intern


Luke Ashton is a 2017 Policy Intern at the Platte Institute.

Originally from the great state of Nebraska, Luke recently graduated from Alma College in Michigan with a degree in Political Science and Anthropology while on a music scholarship.

During his time at Alma, Luke developed a passion for using data in political research and analyzing election results and policy outcomes for academic publication. He had the opportunity to present his research at conferences hosted by the Michigan Political Science Association and the Midwest Political Science Association.

After completing his tenure for the Platte Institute as part of the Koch Internship Program, Luke will split his time between New York City and New Delhi, India by working as a data analyst and assistant intern with the Community Systems Foundation.

Outside of work, Luke stays in touch with his Scottish ancestry by donning a kilt and playing the bagpipes competitively in North America and Scotland.
